Why People Search?

People Search to Find People

People Search to Find People

You just never know when you might need a valuable People Search service.  It can come at the most unexpected time.   I remember very well when I needed this service. I tend to get nostalgic over the holiday season, and that’s when I conducted my first People Search.

I am retired from the US Air Force.  During my 20-years of service I made a lot of friends. Service members tend to movee around a lot, so addresses constantly change.  That makes it very difficult to find old friends.

I found People Search about 2 years ago.  I was looking for a friend that I met in Officers’ Training School.  I did a free search on his name.  That enabled me to get a fix on his general location, his name, and his age.  It even listed his wife’s name which I remembered.  I was estatic!  What a great service.

I was a little reluctant to move forward.  I really didn’t know that I would have to pay for the information that I wanted.  After giving it some thought and talking to my wife, I decided to purchase the information.  In retrospect, it was really a small price to pay.

I knew he’s love to hear from me, and that it would come as a huge surprise.  Plus, I was anxious to contact him.  I actually found a people search service that I could purchase that would give me his e-mail address and address.  Heck, I could have done a private background search on him as well!!!  My wife yelled at me for having that thought, so there went that bright idea!  It was very reasonably priced and the membership service that I used, and still do… only cost like $29 for 3-years.

Well, I found him.  I started by sending him an e-mail.  I couldn’t really go wrong.  He has an unusual last name and the e-mail I choose was one of those standard first-name-initial, plus last name @cox.net.  In fact, it was this e-mail address that I had the greatest confidence in.  I had remembered that that when I knew him over 25-years ago, he was from California, and the current address listed had him living in Oregon.  Plus, the age listed in the search sort of confirmed this to be him.

I put my contact information in my e-mail… I was fairly confident that I had the right person.  An hour later, we were on the phone talking and catching up.  It was simply fantastic.  I was out on the West Coast on a business trip and made it a point to hook-up with him.  We now stay in regular contact.  He now uses the same low-cost People Search account that I use, and he loves it.  He is a small business owner and mostly uses his account to pre-screen employees.  We were also able to find 6 other mutual friends.  I just feel that life’s too short not to rekindle the really important friendships that establised… no matter how long ago.
