As a parent, I find the last statistic totally alarming. It would seem to me that the “dating” services would screen all applicants or participants against existing public databases for sex offenders. Absent this protection, this provides a perfect example of how an inexpensive annual membership in a paid people search site would be extremely prudent for anyone using the dating services.
