Maybe you are trying to figure out how to go about finding old friends for free that over the years you have lost touch with? These could be people you went to school with or even college, and we can show you how to go about locating lost friends all you have to do is know where to look.

What About Facebook!

With all the Social Networking sites that are available today, finding that old school pal is much easier than you might think. If you have a spare hour then you can simply sit at your computer and hunt around for information.Your first port of call should be to use the ’search’ facilities on sites such as Facebook or Twitter. If you are lucky then you will find your friend here and there will be not need to look anywhere else.

Check Your Old Friends

It might sound obvious but your old school mate might be a ‘friend of a friend’ so check with all your friends as to whether they know the whereabouts of ’so and so’. If they are good friends then they will help you search.

Old Contact Information.

There are specialised services around that will help you find people by utilising there last known address or phone number. Just do a Google search for these services and see what you come up with.

Any Old Pics.

Another thing to think about is that several people forget what a person looked like back in the day. So sometimes finding old friends means you have to post a photo on your Facebook profile. This can jog a lot of people’s memory and eventually you could have someone contact you regarding the friend you’re trying to find. It’s a great visual aid and one that can be extremely successful.

Get Creative with Advertising.

You could also take a different path if nothing is working and place a short add in the “Lost and Found” section of the local newspaper. Seriously, several people have done this and found the person they were looking for all along. Keep in mind it’s not necessarily how you find old friends for free, but it’s another solution.

Maybe They Moved Abroad.

It’s also possible that your friend moved abroad and they are no longer in the local area. Heck, sometimes they are overseas, enjoying the fruits of other countries. One thing you can do to start finding old friends out of the area is through ex-pat clubs. They offer forum facilities and will have websites like; Living in…Canada, Greece, France, etc. The individuals on these sites are more than willing to lend a helping hand and have personal blogs with useful links available.

Check Everything Again.

There are tons of people signing up for social networking sites every day. Even though you had a hard time finding old friends the first time around doesn’t mean you should stop trying. Go back to Facebook and Twitter and talk with others. Don’t be afraid to check out other places like MySpace, Fubar, or any of the other social networking sites out there. Your old friend is out there somewhere and just by using the information above you can find old friends for free.

One of the primary sources for documenting family members for your family tree is through birth records. Unforunately, there is no such thing as free birth records. For all the websites that claim they can provide you with a free birth record, look for the hidden fees and look for the catch! It’s there and a little unfair. If you seek total honest and transparency, submit a question via the comments below. Anyway… enough for my personal commercial. LOL

Birth records may be obtained for any number of other reasons as well. They are vital for receiving other documents, like a driver license or a passport. Some employers ask for birth records when you apply for a job. Make sure you have it handy if you or your kids are thinking about joining of branches of the US Armed Forces. Never use a copy, unless you are specifically told you can do so. Otherwise, you always need the raised seal original, or replicated original, And, of course, birth records are a great resource when performing genealogy searches.

Local Vital Records Office vs. Online Services
Regardless of where you get your birth record, it will cost you money to do so. Your first stop may be your state or local vital records office. Although this may be your best option, particularly if you are in the same city or state of your birth, retrieving your birth records from a reputable website may be slightly more convenient.

Many times, the vital records office of a state or local government is overburdened with a high number of requests for vital records. As a result, it may take some time to receive an original, raised seal copy of your birth record. The fees for obtaining a birth record is often less through your vital records office than online, but the convenience of receiving the birth record in a shorter length of time is often well worth the extra cost.

Why Birth Records are Not Free

Birth records, regardless of who obtains them, must be pulled from a state or local vital records office, and these offices always charge a small administrative fee to do so. Therefore, a company that says they can provide a free copy of your birth record is misrepresenting the truth. In fact, you will often find that they charge a number of related fees that end up costing you more than simply ordering the birth records on your own.

However, there are many websites, such as Archives.com, that take the proper channels to produce results. Often times, it is these websites that can help you locate loved ones or ancestors that may be incredibly difficult to do if you performed a search through your local vital records office.

These websites facilitate process of performing genealogy searches and allow you to search for the birth records of loved ones from the comfort of your home. Reputable websites often have easy-to-use search tools that eliminate the hassle of coming up empty handed; instead, they offer full records access and easy retrieval of birth records.

Best of all, these websites allow you to obtain all of the information you need in one comprehensive location. They can even provide you with links to other genealogy websites to retrieve all of the information necessary to complete a thorough, comprehensive search.

Finally, Archives.com, through small fees and reasonably priced memberships, allow you to save searches and records, review past records and searches and maintain a personal collection for convenient viewing at any time. Searching birth records and performing genealogy searches has never been easier!

Online dating is a huge market! That’s a given! And, the concerns that the following statistics represent do not bode well for a free people search. However, a free people search can at least get you started.

According to a recent online dating survey conducted by Online Schools reveals some staggering data regarding men and women who use online dating sites.

The online dating study shows:

1. The US has 40 million users of online dating sites

2. The most popular online dating sites are eHarmony with 20 million users and Match.com with 15 million users.

3. Online dating users are 52.4% male and 47.6% female.

4. The online dating industry is over a $1 billion dollar a year industry.

5. In the US, male users of online dating site typically lie about age, height and income; while women typically lie about weight, physical build and age.

6. 1 out of 10 online dating users is a scammer.

7. 1 out of 6 sex offenders use online dating sites to meet people.

Via: Online Schools

As a parent, I find the last statistic totally alarming. It would seem to me that the “dating” services would screen all applicants or participants against existing public databases for sex offenders. Absent this protection, this provides a perfect example of how an inexpensive annual membership in a paid people search site would be extremely prudent for anyone using the dating services. On the other hand, a free people search (as contained on this site) will at least let you confirm someone’s name, address, phone number and age.

There are any number of groups that can assist with a free people search to help you complete your family tree. Due to the ease and amount of information available through the ever-growing internet, people have become more interested in family histories and genealogy.
International Genealogy Communities

The search for family history in the U.S. often leads to other countries from which ancestors emigrated. Many Americans find that in order to complete a family history chart, they must focus searches in Italy, Ireland, England, Japan, and even multiple countries throughout the world.
To aid with international genealogy searches, there international genealogy communities that can provide much-needed help in finding the data, documents, or records you need. One good place to find an international community is at http://www.worldvitalrecords.com/InternationalPages.aspx.

Religious or Nationality Communities

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is well known for continually researching, collecting, and updating genealogy records. They also are very accessible not only for church members, but to anyone looking for family history records. Their website is at www.familysearch.org.

People of the Jewish faith have also found communities in which they can help each other complete family genealogy research. At www.jewishgenealogysearch.com or www.jewishgen.com, you can search through Jewish heritage records and databases, as well as obtain help and direction in performing your ancestry search.
Local Genealogy Communities

You can find other genealogy enthusiasts in your own community. Individuals who often perform genealogy searches have formed local groups where they can meet, share ideas, offer classes, and help others complete their individual family trees. Many local genealogy communities are dedicated to searching local family histories, including county family and property history records, towns, and even state communities that help provide resources to genealogists.

Genealogy Societies

Genealogy societies are also available for those who want to become part of a larger community. Through societies, you can publish your own family history records, get involved with organized conferences and events, and even take courses as a society member. Societies such as the National Genealogy Society were formed to help preserve genealogy records, as well as provide education and training to members. Membership subscriptions to a genealogy society are usually very reasonable, and they provide great benefits, such as reduced price or free training, periodicals, and access to valuable databases.

Commercial Genealogy Sites

You can also become part of a community by joining popular genealogy websites. Websites like Archives.com, Genealogy.com, MyFamily.com, Ancestry.com, and other popular sites can put you in touch with other genealogy enthusiasts from around the world. In addition, you can get expert advice from professionals and have access to tools to help you build and save your family tree. Whether you are a genealogy enthusiast, hobbyist, or professional, joining a genealogy community can give you great benefits.

It is not very easy to find someone. But trying to locate an old friend is really different from trying to find a missing individual. So what you should do or how you could go about searching this individual, depends very much on the nature of the search.

Here I will be discussing how you can find the person we want to find. However, if after you have gone through this article, you still need more info, please visit the how to find a person site by clicking on the following link: find people

It is exciting to try to look for someone you once knew, and when you have finally found him or her, it is fun to meet up with this friend or old classmate, since you might not have seen him or her in quite a while. This type of search does not require urgent actions, unlike the missing people one. But if you are looking for a lost person, it is most likely not at all fun, and you might be feeling down right now at this moment.

So I will begin with giving tips and advice on finding a lost person:

The most obvious is to call the police as a first step. Then contact and talk to all of the friends who were with the person who is missing when the person disappeared. Visit their homes too if you feel if could help. Talk to all neighbors in the neighborhood and make them aware of the fact that this person is lost and that you need all the help you can get in finding her or him. Talk about this lost person with each and everyone you meet. Put an ad in all the newspapers around you with a picture of the missing person. It could also be helpful to put an ad on the internet. And something that could be of great help to you would be to contact a private detective. Online searches or the use of online search engines will not really help in this case, especially if the matter is urgent. If not very urgent (if it is a distant relative that “disappeared” many years ago), why not try the people.yahoo.com search? This should be a quite reliable search engine. Also search for any public records available on this person. Also why not check some newspaper articles related to the disappearance of the person.

Here is advice on how to find an old friend:

Try to search for the person’s name on Google and Yahoo. Then try to find the person on an online social network like Myspace, facebook, Bebo or Taringa. Avoid paying for search results, if you use a people search engine. You will most probably be dissatisfied, because the search results for sale online are most of the time not correct. Instead you should try to do your own people search by asking other people who also knew this friend, for contact information. Do they know where she or he is now, do they have his or her number? Or do they have this persons address? Be sure to check your own old email accounts and the one you are using now for any contacts that might know this person. But if it is very difficult to find this person you can after doing all of this contact an investigator. But this is only if you are serious about finding this person. You can find a listing of private investigators on this page by clicking here private detective

I wish you the best of luck with your search.
